Life Without Problems and Rosa Parks

Another week another win! That's for the optimists.  Another week another worry!  And that's for the pessimists.  Which one of those lines caught your attention the most?  Either way ya gotta luv'em both. Why?  Because you can't have one without the other.  Think about it.

All week long I’ve been thinking (I do that every now and then), “Would life really be wonderful if I didn’t have any problems?”  No matter what scenario I thought of, I came up with the same answer.  Life would be booorrring without problems and challenges.

No tension; no resolution.  No problems; no solutions.  And no service.  Without solutions and service no one would have anything to strive for other than enlightenment. (But then again there would be no enlightenment without ignorance and ignorance is a problem).

Your income is a reflection of the solutions you come up with and the service you provide.  Think about it.  Can you think of any occupation or business that isn’t the result of a problem that needs to be solved or a service that needs to be provided? If you can, email it to me.   But I bet that you can’t come up with one.

On another note, just like millions of other people...

I was sad to hear about the passing of civil rights icon, Rosa Parks.  If you don’t know about Rosa Parks, what planet are you from?!  Just kidding (well, not really).  Google her and read about her.  Her message transcends race and time.

She is the epitome of the Butterfly Effect (B.E.).  The B.E. states that somewhere on this planet a butterfly is flapping its wings.  The molecules that have been set in motion as a result will eventually develop into hurricane!  The B.E. is another way of saying little incidents can have huge impacts.

Whenever Rosa Parks was asked about her famous refusal to give up her seat, she would always say that she had no idea that it would spark such a fire.  That just shows that ordinary people are often the epicenter of extraordinary events. Although a billion thank you’s still wouldn’t be enough, here’s one anyway.

Thanks Ms. Parks.
